Wade MacLauchlan, Liberal leadership candidate, has announced a series of public roundtables on key issues he says are impacting Islanders and that will determine P.E.I.’s future direction and success.
MacLauchlan says he believes one of the foremost qualities of a leader is the ability to listen.
“Leaders should not only express their own opinions and ideas, they should listen to the priorities and positions of the people they represent.”
Since entering the contest for the Liberal Leadership, MacLauchlan has visited every electoral district on P.E.I. and met more than 1,000 people.
The first public meeting will be held on in Georgetown this evening from 7-9 p.m. at Kings Playhouse.
The theme will be Prospering Rural Communities.
The roundtable will feature panelists who are leaders in aquaculture, agriculture, engineering technologies, and small business growth in rural communities.
On Saturday, Jan. 17, a roundtable on Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs will be held at the Mill River Resort from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The panelists will speak about entrepreneurial success stories and innovations in forestry, agriculture, fisheries and information technology.
The Mill River roundtable will be held in conjunction with 21Inc., an innovative regional organization that aims to accelerate tomorrow’s leaders through dynamic leadership programs.
Each roundtable discussion will be led by MacLauchlan as moderator, and will provide opportunity for input from panelists and the audience.
