When East Prince RCMP stopped a motorist in Wellington Sunday night on suspicion of speeding and impaired driving they discovered two children in the back seat of his car.

The children were under 10 years of age and were given to their mother to take home. The RCMP news release did not say if their mother was in the car at the time of the incident.

The driver, a 39 year old area resident, was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Open liquor was also seized.

The driver provided breath samples, and is being charged for impaired driving. Tickets were issued for the open liquor and for driving with an expired license.  He is also being charged for uttering threats after he threatened to damage the officers’ personal vehicles.

This impaired driving charge follows three separate arrests for impaired driving in Prince County the day before.
