A company on the Brudenell River has complained to RCMP that six of its shellfish lines have been cut over the past two weeks.

Kings District RCMP is investigating and officers say they don't know if the lines were damaged deliberately or by accident.

"There are clearly visible markers showing the location of these lines," states a news release from the detachment, "and the RCMP are asking boaters to stay well away from the areas where they are located."

RCMP are also asking the public to call if they see anyone tampering with shellfish lines or driving over them in any type of watercraft, whether on purpose or accidentally.
