St. Felix man gets in accident, then refuses breath test

SUMMERSIDE – A St. Felix man crashed his car and when police arrived, refused to take the breath test, a court heard recently.

Jimmy Lee Arsenault, 26, of St. Felix, was sentenced to 30 days in jail and is prohibited from driving for one year.

He pleaded guilty to the charge of refusing the breath test after his single-vehicle accident.

Provincial court in Summerside dealt with that and two other drinking and driving convictions during court proceedings last Thursday.

The court heard that a member of the public tipped police of a possible drunk driver and policey found him in Bloomfield.

David Wendell Ellands of Tyne Valley was the driver and was charged with impaired driving. He got three days in jail, a $1,000 fine and a one year driving suspension.

The exact same sentence was also given to Jordan David Webster, 23, of Charlottetown in Summerside provincial court Thursday.
