Folks getting together Saturday to support Lorna Sutherland

A fundraising ceilidh in support of Lorna Sutherland is set for Saturday, March 26, 7 p.m., at the Murray River Hall

Sutherland is a well-known, entertainer and community supporter who is undergoing extensive cancer treatment.

Special guest entertainers, include Garnet Buell and the Singing Islanders (Donald MacKenzie, Jim Madsen, Ivan Nicholson), Garth Gillis, Donnie MacDonald, Jamie O'Brien, Angela Curran, Harold Green, Len Buell, Edna MacMaster,Wayne Maclean, Marian Bruce, Andy Clarey, Rita Watts, the MacDonald Sisters, Marie Docherty and Doris Matheson and the Bernard Family, Jackie, Sheila and Vanessa.

The evening will also include a 50/50 draw, a live auction, lunch during intermission and time to spend with Sutherland's many friends and family members.

“We are hoping that Lorna will be able to join us, but under the circumstance, we will understand if she cannot be with us,” says a release.

Admission will be $5 per person, and there will also be a donation/card box available. Donations towards the auction and the lunch will be much appreciated.
