The third animal to be profiled in the 2015 edition of the 12 Strays of Christmas is Percy, a seven-month-old Netherland Dwarf black rabbit.

Unfortunately, he was found abandoned in a crate at a local business.

He is very sweet and would do well in a quiet household.

Despite being little, Percy needs lots of floor time so he can exercise.

Holiday tip #3: Sparkling lights are dazzling and inviting to your pet.

But electrocution can cause severe mouth burns from chewing on electrical cords.

Even hours after an incident, electrocution can cause damage to the heart and other systems.

Treat cords with bitter tasting creams or sprays from your veterinarian, and unplug cords when pets are not supervised.

For more information about the adoptable animals at the shelter visit www.peihumanesociety.com or call 902-892-1190 ext 21.

The 12 Strays of Christmas, a special feature produced by the P.E.I. Humane Society and The Guardian, will appear periodically during the holiday season.
