The first animal to be profiled in the 2017 edition of the 12 Strays of Christmas is Slick Rick.
This affectionate three-year-old tabby cat loves playtime with his cat toys. Slick Rick is a real charmer who likes to cuddle and would do well in a home with children and other animals.
Adoption Tip #1: Adopting a companion animal is a lifelong commitment. If life circumstances change, will you still be able to care for your pet? Do a budget and factor in visits with the vet, emergency care, food, grooming, training, litter, dishes, bedding, kennels, scratching posts and toys. Who will care, play and walk them daily? How does their personality fit your household and lifestyle? By doing research you can prepare yourself, as well as your home, for a new furry friend.
The 12 Strays of Christmas is a joint project between The Guardian and the P.E.I. Humane Society.
