In Matthew 28: 5 & 6 it is written, “But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.” These words can mean only one thing: We can trust Jesus for the salvation of our souls. Paul affirmed this when He was inspired to write, “If you shall confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” It also means that by His resurrection, Christ has conquered death for us all. The writer of Hebrews states, “… Jesus, who, for the suffering of death that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.” And Timothy tells us that our “Savior Jesus Christ, has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” Jesus promised, “Because I live, you shall live also. This is the meaning and message of the empty tomb. It is now up to us to respond by inviting the risen Saviour to come into our lives. Because by His death at Calvary He has made it possible to be forgiven, and by His resurrection, He has made it possible for us to receive the gift of eternal life.
