Hunter River Lions Club pancake breakfast will be on March 25, 7:30-10 a.m., with pancakes, sausages, baked beans, toast and jam, tea, coffee and juice. Admission is adults, $7; families, $20.

Run to Quit is an innovative program organized by the Canadian Cancer Society where participants learn to walk or run 5 km while receiving practical support on quitting smoking. Dwaine Oakley, a skilled wildlife photographer and naturalist, will open the speaker’s series on Monday, March 27 with his presentation “The Owls and Hawks of the Hillsborough”. He will use some of his spectacular photographs and their calls to describe the diversity of owls and hawks that have lived here since the late 1800s. His presentation will be held at Stratford Town Hall's Southport Room starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Sister Antoinette DesRoches Historical Committee will accept nominations for the Gilbert Buote Award until April 21. This award serves to recognize outstanding projects in the field of Acadian history and heritage on Prince Edward Island. The projects submitted for the award must have been completed in 2016.
