Allison Keane said she is fired up to suit up for the Holland College Hurricanes women’s basketball squad this season.
“I fell in love with the school and the city of Charlottetown while I was there for a tournament with my high school team. I am really looking forward to playing at Holland College and for (head) coach (Mike) Connolly,” said Keane, a five-foot-seven guard from Fredericton. “I like a fast pace, up-tempo game. Distributing the ball is my strength as well as shooting beyond the arc. Being gritty and aggressive on defence is what makes the game fun for me.”
Keane captained the Leo Hayes varsity basketball team in 2014 and was a member of Team New Brunswick at the 2013 Canada Games.
She also played on the under-16 provincial team in 2012.
Connolly said he’s pleased Keane chose the Hurricanes after she garnered attention from several New Brunswick colleges and universities.
“She is a tough competitor who will bring a real energy on the defensive end,” said Connolly. “We think she is ready to make a contribution right away.”
Keane is enrolled in the sport and leisure management program.
