Matt Boudens added another goal, into an empty net, for UNB at 18:20 of the third period as the Varsity Reds took Game 2 by a 5-2 score.
Dylan Willick and Colin Suellentrop picked up the assists on the shorthanded marker.
UNB outshot the Panthers 42-26.

For the second period in a row, UNB outscored the Panthers 2-1 and now lead 4-2 after two periods of play.
UNB extended its lead to 3-1 just 18 seconds into the second period on a power-play goal by Chris Clapperton. He was assisted by Jordan Murray and Cameron Braes.
UPEI would make it a one-goal game again at 12:52 on a goal by Marcus Power, assisted by Nelson Armstrong.
UNB then replied at 16:18 on a goal by Rob Magnadi, from Philippe Halley and Cameron Brace.
A power-play goal by Jordan Murray has given the UNB Varsity Reds a 2-1 lead over the UPEI Panthers after one period of play in the Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey semifinal.
Murray’s goal came at 12:33 of the first period, assisted by Cameron Braes and Chris Clapperton.
UPEI opened the scoring, with a shorthanded marker by Craig MacLauchlan, unassisted, at 4:12.
UNB tied it up at 10:18 on a goal by Mike Thomas, assisted by Matt Petgrave.
