Dexter Weber of the Charlottetown Islanders is the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team's candidate for the 2016 Marcel-Robert Trophy.

The honour recognizes the circuit's top student-athlete and will be presented at the league awards next month in Montreal.

The winner earns also earns a $1,000 bursary on top of a $400 scholarship for being a nominee from one of 18 teams. The three finalists for the trophy receive a $600 scholarship, too.

Weber, a defenceman from Kitchener, Ont., is enrolled at UPEI and has four goals and 23 points in 46 games with Charlottetown this season.
