Dawson McCormack scored twice in the third period, including the game-winner, to help the Summerside Hemphill GM Capitals to a 3-2 win over the Mid-Isle Matrix in P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League action Wednesday in Summerside.
The Caps had a 1-0 lead after the first, thanks to Sam Bernard, but Mid-Isle's Daniel Collister tied things 1-1 midway through the second frame.
McCormack's first goal gave Summerside a 2-1 edge almost nine minutes into the third, but Collister struck again three minutes later to even the score 2-2.
That held until McCormack's second of the game about four minutes later sealed the win.
Logan Vandervelden had three assists for the Caps while Connor McAulay chipped in two helpers.
Mid-Isle outshot Summerside 25-21. Both teams went 1-for-2 on the power play.
Jaxon Lamont earned the win over Caelan Ferguson.
