Flames give Aces the hot foot

It took a shootout, but the North River Flames finally bested the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces 8-7 in Razzy's P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League action Sunday in Summerside.

Matt Lange scored the shootout winner. Lange (1-1) also scored in regulation time.

Matt Craig's hat trick paced the Flames offence, while Liam O'Connor, Ethan MacFadyen and Dylan McKenna netted the markers.

North River overcame Tignish's five-goal second period and a 6-4 deficit at the second intermission with three goals in the third.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first.

Ryley Doyle (2-2), Colton Gallant (2-2), Tyson Carragher (1-1), Jake Getson (1-1) and Connor Dillon tallied the Aces goals.

Alex Frangros earned the win over Avery Arsenault.

North River outshot Tignish 40-33 and went 2-for-8 on the power play. Tignish was 1-for-7 with the extra man.

On Saturday, the Flames beat the Morell Flyers 7-2 while Southside MacDonald's Excavation EF MacPhee Lynx defeated the Sherwood Metros 8-5.
