Tignish wins twice in junior C weekend action

The Tignish Perry's Construction Aces put on a scoring show in a 9-2 thumping of the Morell Flyers in Razzy's P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League action Sunday in Tignish.

Tyson Carragher (2-2), Ryley Doyle (2-2) and Colton Gallant (2-2) led the way while Brady Albert, Jake Getson and Chase McCue chipped in singles scores.

Brett Ramsay and Connor Dillon each had two assists for Tignish, which led 3-0 after the first period and 7-1 at the second intermission.

Tignish outshot Morell 53-27.

Moregan McAcree and Connor Curran netted Morell's scores.

Avery Arsenault earned the win over Matthew MacKinnon.

On Saturday, Tignish controlled the action in a 6-3 win over the Southside MacDonald's Excavation EF MacPhee Lynx in Crapaud.

Dillon (2-1), Gallant (2-2) and McCue (2-0) provided the Aces offence while goalie Kristen Clements kept Southside shooters at bay.

Tignish led 2-1 and 3-1 after the first two periods, and outshot the Lynx 23-20.

Tyler Jurkowski (2) and Riley Payne netted the Lynx markers.

Isaac Stavert was tagged with the loss.

Also Saturday, the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres tripled the North River Flames 6-2 in Cornwall paced by three goals from Logan Aylward.

Cody McGuirk, Keirsten Steele and Evan Feehan had the other Belfast scores. Tyler Deagle and Chase MacLeod each chipped in two assists.

Belfast led 2-0 after the first period and 2-1 at the second intermission, and outshot North River 41-27.

Dylan McKenna (1-1) and Ethan MacFadyen scored for the Flames.

Ben Ladner recorded the win over Zack Geldart.
