Ex-Rocket, Acadia goalie goes pro

Former P.E.I. Rocket and Acadia Axemen goalie Evan Mosher has signed on with the Quad City Mallards of the Central Hockey League for the 2014-15 season.

Mosher, 23, went 17-5-0 in 22 games last season with Acadia, backstopping the Wolfville, N.S., school to the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) hockey title and a berth in the national tourney.

The Conception Bay, N.L., native made the 2013-14 all-Canadian team. Mosher went 32-19-0 In 52 career games at Acadia with a 2.64 goals against-average (GAA), a .902 save percentage and two shutouts.

Mosher played 117 games during five seasons with the Rocket and finished his major junior career 50-57-0 with a 3.17 GAA, a .907 save percentage and three shutouts.  In his final junior season, Mosher led the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in minutes played (3,266:38) and saves (1,694) and finished second in save percentage (.918) and eighth in GAA (2.19).
