The UPEI Panthers will host the UNB Varsity Reds on Saturday, Oct. 11 to open the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) men’s hockey season.
The defending champion Acadia Axemen will raise their championship banner during their home opener Friday, Oct. 17 when they host the Panthers.
The women’s Panthers will play their first game on Friday, Oct. 17 at home when the St. F.X. X-Women come to town. Both games start at 7 p.m.
The conference announced the men’s and women’s hockey schedules on Wednesday.
The men’s teams play a 28-game regular season while the women’s teams play 24 regular season contests.
The top six teams qualifying for postseason play with the top two regular season finishers receiving byes to the conference semifinals.
This year's AUS men's hockey playoff format will feature two best-of-three quarterfinals, followed by best-of-five semifinals and a best-of-three final.
AUS is guaranteed three berths in both the 2015 and 2016 nationals, being hosted at the Halifax Metro Centre by St. F.X. and Saint Mary's, respectively.
The 2015 University Cup will be held March 12 to 15.
The 2015 national women's hockey championship will be hosted by the University of Calgary March 12 to 15.
