Drew MacIntyre

Stratford native Drew MacIntyre is leading all goalies in goals-against average and is in a first-place tie in save percentage after the first round of the American Hockey League playoffs.

The 30-year-old Toronto Marlies goaltender is 3-0, including a shutout, with a tiny 1.33 GAA and is even with Norfolk Admirals netminder John Gibson in save percentage at .955.

MacIntyre’s Marlies take on the Chicago Wolves in the second round of the Calder Cup chase after Toronto swept the Milwaukee Admirals in three games in the best-of-five opening round.

Games 1 and 2 of the Western Conference best-of-seven semifinal are Friday and Saturday in Chicago, Ill. Games times are 8:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. AT, respectively.

And interestingly enough, his opponent in the opposite net is Jake Allen from Fredericton, NB who was the top goalie in the AHL for the entire season. Should be a great match up.
