Darcy Ashley of Brooklyn, was the hero for the Halifax Mooseheads on Wednesday night.
Ashley, who was named the game’s first star, scored his second goal of the night and 24th of the season 4:09 into overtime to give the Mooseheads a 5-4 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game was played before 7,055 fans at the Halifax Metro Centre.
Ashley also added an assist for a three-point night. Brent Andrews of Hunter River notched his 27th goal of the season for the Mooseheads.
