Charlottetown Islanders lose to Shawinigan

Maxime Lagace shutout his former team Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Alexandre Grand-Maison scored the winner in the third period and Alex Pawelczyk found the empty net late as the Shawinigan Cataractes defeated the Charlottetown Islanders 2-0.

It was the teams final game before the Christmas break.

Lagace made 32 saves for the win while Eric Brassard stopped 38 shots in the loss.

The Islanders fall to 14-19-1-4 and have lost three straight games. Shawinigan improved to 9-25-2-1.

The Islanders are back in action Saturday, Dec. 28, when they host the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at 7 p.m.
