Rocket knocks off Mooseheads

Louick Marcotte had three assists as the P.E.I. Rocket downed the Canadian Hockey League's best team Sunday in Charlottetown.

The Rocket defeated the Halifax Mooseheads 5-2. Victor Provencher, Josh Currie, Jack Nevins, Ben Duffy and Alex Micallef scored in the win. Duffy, Currie, Ryan Graves, Antoine Bibeau, Erik Robichaud and Jimmy Oligny had assists.

Dominic Beauchemin and Stefan Fournier replied with third period goals for Halifax.

Bibeau made 37 saves for the win while Zachary Fuscale stopped 24 of 28 shots before being replaced by Chris Clarke, who made three saves on four shots.

The Rocket improved to 23-15-2 while the Moose fall to 32-4-2-1.

Five players were not in the lineup today after competing recently at the world junior championship. The Rocket was missing Tomas Pavelka and Matej Beran while the Mooseheads were without Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin and Martin Frk.
