Quebec City — Axel Rioux scored the winner midway through the third period as the host Quebec Remparts beat the P.E.I. Rocket 5-3 Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Victor Provencher, Ben Duffy and Alexis Pépin scored for the Rocket with assists to Jimmy Oligny and Louick Marcotte.
Jason Houde had two goals and an assist for Quebec.
Nikita Kucherov and Anthony Duclair, into the empty net, had the other markers.
Duclair had a pair of assists while singles went to Adam Erne and Ryan Culkin, Duncan MacIntyre, Mikhail Grigorenko and Pierre-Maxime Poudrier.
The Rocket was outshot 36-27, including 10-4 in the third.
Antoine Bibeau made 31 saves in the loss while Francois Brassard made 24 saves for the win.
The Remparts were 2-for-3 on the power play. Both goals came in the first period.
The Rocket dropped to 11-7-1 while the Remparts improved to 14-4.
It was P.E.I.’s first game in a week.
The Rocket is back in action today when they play the Rimouski Oceanic at 5 p.m.
