Keys, Morikoshi lead Abbies to midget AAA hockey win

Three first-period goals proved the difference in the Charlottetown Brighton Construction Abbies 5-3 victory over the Sherwood Drug Mart Falcons on Thursday at Cody Banks Arena.

Jacob Keys (1-1), Andrew Wong and Josh Scott netted the Abbies opening frame markers while Patrick Smith and Keita Morikoshi (1-1) added second and third-period goals, respectively in the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League game.

Ryan Lawless, Mark MacMillan, Nick MacDonald and Tyson Blue each added a single assist.

Charlottetown led 3-1 after the first period and 4-2 at the second intermission.

Lucas Holmes (2) and Connor Smith had the Falcons goals. Kyle Keoughan drew an assist.

Both teams were 1-for-4 on the power play.

Zach Geldart was in the Charlottetown goal while Kody MacDonald was in the Sherwood net.
