Hurricanes clash with Dalhousie on gridiron this weekend

The Holland College Hurricanes football club travels to Halifax, N.S., to face the Dalhousie Tigers on Saturday with a chance to be atop the Atlantic Football League standings.

Game time is Halifax is 6 p.m.

Holland College and Dal are tied 1-1 in the standings. The UNB Fredericton Red Raiders are 2-0 and face the winless UNBSJ Seawolves (0-2) also on Saturday.

“Last year, the Hurricanes were undefeated against the Tigers, and the team is planning to keep that record going,”   said Mark MacDougall ‘Canes head coach. “The game is part of Dalhousie University’s homecoming celebrations, so the stands will be packed with Tiger supporters. We’re hoping some Hurricanes fans will be able to make the trip to cheer our guys on.”

The Hurricanes are coming off a 28-21 loss to UNB Fredericton last week while Dal defeated UNBSJ 21-7 in its previous game.

Holland College hosts Dal on Saturday, Oct. 6. Game time is 1 p.m. at MacAdam Field.
