Teams skipped by Matthew MacLean and Leslie Noye are the only undefeated rinks remaining at the P.E.I. Pepsi junior men's curling championships in Alberton.
They will meet today at 9 a.m. in the five-team modified triple knockout event at the Western Community Curling Club.
MacLean opened play Sunday by defeating Devin Schut 6-3 before knocking off defending champs Tyler Smith 7-6. Smith held 3-1 and 5-3 leads before MacLean scored a triple in the eighth. The teams traded singles the next two ends.
Noye beat MacFadyen 6-4 in nine ends to advance. MacFadyen bounced back by beating Schut 13-1 in five ends after scoring five in the first.
Rinks skipped by Katie Fullerton and Lauren Lenentine won their first draws at the four-team women's championship.
They will meet each other today at 9 a.m. in the modified triple-knockout tournament.
Lenentine beat Lauren Moerike 8-2 in eight ends while Fullerton beat Alyssa Wright 11-3 in nine ends.
Lenentine led 2-1 after three ends before scoring a single in the fourth and stealing two in the fifth and sixth ends. The teams traded singles the next two ends before shaking hands.
Fullerton led 7-0 after six before Wright scored a single in the seventh and stole a deuce in the eighth to make it 7-3. Fullerton had four in the ninth to end it.
Fullerton was lead on Veronica Smith's winning team at last year's event.
