The P.E.I. Youth Selects are heading to Saskatoon on Tuesday for the under-17 Canada Cup tournament. The P.E.I. Youth Selects scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to break a 3-3 tie en route to a 5-3 victory over Manitoba Thursday at the Canada Cup in Saskatoon.
Brandon Watts' two-run single plated Cole MacLaren and Parker Harvey, who had singled, to pull out the win.
Porter Smith threw three scoreless innings of relief to pick up the victory. Matt Barlow started and battled for 3 1/3 innings while Jayden MacLean came in to get the team out of a jam in the fourth.
Barlow had two hits while Darcy Affleck and Kyle Pinksen each had singles.
P.E.I. (2-1) plays the undefeated host Saskatchewan squad on Friday at 10 p.m. ADT.
