Charlottetown held to four singles in two games

The Charlottetown Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders couldn’t get the offence going Saturday in Chatham, N.B.

The Ironmen swept the Islanders 2-0 and 5-0 to improve to 14-11 while Charlottetown falls to 10-14.

Perry Deveux (3-1) won the opener while Jordan Stevenson (3-4) took the loss.

The Ironmen scored single runs in the first and fifth innings as Stevenson scattered six hits, two walks and two strikeouts.

Connor Myers singled for Charlottetown’s only hit.

Emerson Savage (1-0) defeated Jake Beck (2-5) in the second game as the Ironmen jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning.

Brody McDonald, Sean Corcoran and Will Connolly singled for Charlottetown’s three hits.

Beck gave up six hits, struck out four and walked one.

The Islanders resume action tonight at 7 p.m. in Moncton against the Mets (13-8), who lost 2-0 to Hub City on Saturday.
