Brewers sweep Mudhens in KCBL action

The Northside Gill Construction Inc. Brewers swept a twin bill with the Cornwall Mudhens Sunday afternoon in Kings County Baseball League action.

The Brewers used the long ball to winner the opener 5-3.  

Dustin Larkin and D.J. Dunn both had solo homeruns while Garret Vandiepen went 2-for-3 to lead the Brewer bats.

Mitchell Ryan went the distance on the mound for the win. Tyler Johnston pitched the complete game loss for the Mudhens.

Chris Chandler and Zach Marsh each had three hits each to lead the Mudhens.

In Game 2, Taylor Larkin had a no hitter going until Brandon Dowling single in the fifth inning. Larkin finished the game with nine strikeouts while allowing only four hits as the Brewers pounded the Mudhens 13-2.

Peter MacLeod 3-for-4, Nigel Fisher 2-for-2 and Jason MacLean with two doubles led the Brewers’ attack.

Ewan Groman suffered the loss with relief from Marsh.

Johnston was 1-for-2 to lead the Mudhens.
