The Charlottetown Gaudet's Auto Body Islanders look to reverse a two-game slide when they welcomes the Moncton Mets to Memorial Field tonight for a New Brunswick Senior Baseball League contest.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
This will be the first meeting of the season between the two clubs.
Taylor Larkin will get his first start of the season for the Islanders.
Brady Arsenault, a member of the P.E.I. Carpenter’s Union Juniors, has been added to the roster for tonight's game and will be the first arm out of the bullpen.
He will be limited to five innings.
The Islanders (4-3) lost twice to the Fredericton Royals over the weekend, dropping 8-0 and 4-3
(eight innings) decisions in Charlottetown.
The Mets (1-3) finally got in the win column with a 7-1 victory over the Saint John Alpines on Sunday.
Charlottetown is 2 1/2 games behind the league-leading Royals (6-0) while the Mets are 3 1/2 games back.
The Mets have added an import from the United States to strengthen their roster.
The Islanders will host the Royals on Saturday at 2 p.m. and will then travel to Moncton on Sunday for a 7 p.m. game against the Mets.
In other league news, Fredericton’s Mike Washburn and JF Neveu of the Chatham Ironmen are the player and pitcher of the week, respectively.
Washburn last week hit .667 last week, going 8-for-12 at the plate with a home run, four RBIs and he scored twice.
Neveu fired a two-hit 15-0 shutout against Saint John while striking out six batters and walking two.
