Tignish scores nine times, goalie makes 21 saves to force deciding Game 5 in junior C quarter-final

The Tignish Perry's Construction Aces scored four times in the first period and pummelled the North River Flames 9-0 to stave off elimination in Razzy's P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League action Sunday in Summerside.

The best-of-five quarter-final is tied 2-2. The deciding Game 5 goes Friday, at 7:40 p.m., at the APM Centre in Cornwall. 

Tyson Carragher (2-1), Colton Gallant and Brydon Smith did the honours in the first period. Smith, Joel Arsenault (1-1) and Ryley Doyle (1-2) added second-period scores.

Gallant and Connor Perry finished off the scoring with goals in the third. Carragher, Gallant and Smith each had an assist as well for three-point games.

Brett Ramsey and Dylan Rayner each chipped in two helpers.

Avery Arsenault earned the playoffs first shutout and his only no-no this season.

Tignish outshot North River 28-21 and went 1-for-3 on the power play.

The Flames won 4-1 in Game 3 on Saturday in Cornwall to put Tignish on the brink.
