Scott sets pace for Panthers in win over Memorial

Tyler Scott had 27 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists to pace the UPEI Panthers to a 97-87 win over the Memorial Sea-Hawks Saturday in Atlantic University Sport men’s basketball action.

Brad States had 22 points and nine boards while Dut Dut added 12 and eight, respectively. Point guard Amin Suleman had 11 points, three rebounds and three steals in his first start for the Panthers.

Lorenzo Parker chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Vasilije Curcic had 24 points and nine rebounds to lead the Sea-Hawks while Davion Parnsalu had 17 points, 12 assists and seven boards.

Memorial went 4-for-13 (31 per cent) from the free-throw line while UPEI was 11-for-17 (65 per cent).

UPEI held quarter leads of 28-12, 49-40 and 76-57.

UPEI improved to 11-6 and snapped a two-game losing streak while Memorial is 6-11.

The teams play again Sunday at 1 p.m.
