Dut Dut had 30 points and 11 rebounds to pace the UPEI Panthers to a 104-83 victory Friday over the Acadia Axemen in Atlantic University Sport men’s basketball action.
Brad States scored 24 points and grabbed nine boards while second-team all-Canadian Tyler Scott had an off-night shooting, but found other ways to be effective. He shot 3-for-16 from the field for eight points but had 12 rebounds and seven assists.
Milorad Sedlarevic added 16 points for the Panthers while Jake Kendrick chipped in 15 off the bench.
Shaquille Smith paced the Axemen with 19 points.
Acadia led 25-21 after the first quarter while the game was tied 44-44 at the half.
The Panthers won the third quarter to take a 77-69 led to the fourth.
UPEI improved to 7-2 and is tied for the conference lead with Dalhousie, which has played one more game than the Panthers. Acadia falls to 6-4.
UPEI’s only loss came to Acadia in Wolfville, N.S., before the Christmas break.
The teams play again tonight at 8 p.m.
