The Acadia Axewomen had a big second half Friday to defeat the UPEI Panthers 80-62 in Atlantic University Sport women’s basketball action.
The Panthers held quarter leads of 23-16 and 33-26 but were outscored 54-29 in the final two quarters.
Paloma Anderson led Acadia with 34 points while Chanel Smith had 13 and Alexandra Berry chipped in 10 points to go with a game-high 14 rebounds.
Angenay Williams had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Panthers while Kiera Rigby had 11 points and eight assists.
Acadia improved to 10-0 while UPEI falls to 2-7. The teams meet again in Charlottetown on Saturday at 6 p.m.
