Summerside will host the Atlantic Junior Badminton Championships from Friday, May 2, to Sunday, May 4.
A large contingent of the top junior badminton athletes from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and P.E.I. are expected to participate.
The championships will consist of three age groups - under-14, under-16 and under-19.
Each group will consist of five events (boys singles and doubles, girls singles and doubles and mixed doubles).
P.E.I. has had many successes at the championships in the past.
Some of the 2011 successful P.E.I. athletes are still eligible for the championships this year.
They are Tiffany Cameron, who won under-14 girls' singles and the doubles with Carrie McGuire, and Jessie and Riley Cameron, who won the under-16 boys' doubles.
Most of the province's competitive juniors are expected to compete and do well in the championship.
The events will be held at Three Oaks, Summerside Intermediate, Elm Street and Parkside schools starting on May 2, going all day Saturday, with the finals in all events being played on May 4 at Three Oaks High School.
The entry deadline is Sunday, April 13. For information and entry forms email Nancy MacKinnon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
