The Island Storm has re-signed Nick Evans for the remainder of the season.

He replaces centre Bilal Dixon, who has left the team to return home to New Jersey for personal reasons.

Evans played last season with the Storm but released earlier this season.

“Nick broke a team rule earlier in the year and paid a serious price,” said head coach Joe Salerno. “Nick is a solid guy at heart who made a mistake, and we felt he deserved a second chance when the opportunity presented itself. With Nick’s previous experience with our organization, we feel we know his character and we are looking forward to him again being part of the Storm family.”

Evans is expected to be in the lineup Tuesday when the Storm hosts the Moncton Miracles at Eastlink Centre at 7 p.m.

The Storm plays Moncton on Saturday in game rescheduled from Dec. 10. Fans holding tickets or vouchers for the Dec. 10 game will have those honoured Saturday night.
