UPEI Panthers men's hockey team downed the Dalhousie Tigers 6-3 Saturday afternoon to split their second consecutive road weekend.

The win follows UPEI's loss to the Acadia Axemen Friday night, giving the Panthers a 5-5 regular season record going into home games against the UNB Varsity Reds and St. Thomas Tommies next Friday and Saturday.

Jared Gomes, Jordan Knox and Devin Praught all found the net for the Panther during the first period of Saturday's game in Halifax, while Dalhousie's J. Villeneuve-Gagne scored at 8:08.

Dalhousie's Trevor MacKenzie scored at 6:28 in the second, narrowing UPEI's lead to 3-2, but Matt Carter answered back for the Panthers less than a minute later in what would be the game-winning goal.

Gomes and Knox both scored their second goals of the night in the third, at 4:45 and 19:14 respectively, while Trevor MacKenzie got Dalhousie's final goal at 13:00.

UPEI's Mavric Parks stopped 43 of 46 shots faced for the win, while Dalhousie's Philip Wright blocked 28 of 33.

No mention of the UPEI basketball games? The men's game came down to a buzzer beater for a UPEI win--great game.
