The UPEI Panthers downed the Acadia Axemen 5-3 in Atlantic Universities men’s hockey action Saturday, bringing the team’s regular season record to 3-3.

The Panthers won their second game at MacLauchlan Arena this weekend, after dominating the Dalhousie Tigers 6-2 Friday night to snap a three-game losing streak.

The Panthers continued on that energy Saturday night for their victory against Acadia, the third-ranked team in the country.

Panther goals were scored by Dana Fraser, Matt Carter, Devin Praught, Chris Desousa and Matthew Maione.

Michael Ward scored two power play goals for Acadia, while Joe Gaynor also found the net for the team.

UPEI goalie Mavric Parks faced a total of 38 shots, while Acadia’s Evan Mosher saw 26.

I believe the Lady Panthers played two games on the weekend as well. Are we going to see equal coverage??? Congrats to the men's team on their wins.
