Editor: In response to the Parole Board of Canada granting full parole to Raymond Cantelo, I am appalled. Are Islanders immune to week after week of DUI accidents where innocent people are killed? In some cases the drivers have been driving with suspended or no licences.

What will it take to ensure that serious consequences, with clear deterrent effect, await the offenders — suspension, loss of licence, the “three strikes,” permanent loss of licence used in some jurisdictions, or how about prison?
