Therese Casgrain

Editor: I would like to commend Marlene Bryenton for her excellent letter in The Guardian (July 31) regarding the disappearance of the Therese Casgrain Award, categorizing it under a melange of “The Prime Minister’s Volunteer Awards’’, by our prime minister.

So much for transparency. I am appalled and disgusted, and even more, disappointed.

This is a flagrant disregard for one of Canada’s most influential women. I would hope that saner heads will prevail and this most deserving award will be reinstated in Senator Casgrain’s name.
