Loss of identity is confusing

Editor: The brain-washing is now complete. Could someone explain to me how did the ancient people of Palestine lose their national identity?

Let me elaborate. The people, who by the generosity of post World War II European and American “peace-makers,” had their land expropriated and given to European Jews. When did they not only lose their land but also lose their nationality?

In the international media, the Palestinian people are referred to as Hamas. Hamas is not a nationality, but the name of the political party, democratically elected by the Palestinian people.

Following this logic, should Israel be called “Licud,” the U.S. “Democrats” and, God forbid, Canadians “Conservatives”? Or, am I missing something?
