Police in Charlottetown are investigating a car-pedestrian accident that sent two women to hospital Saturday night.

One of those women had to be transported to hospital in Moncton for further treatment and tests.

A spokesman for Charlottetown Police Services said the two women, both of whom were in their mid-40s, were walking on Garfield Street when they were struck by a vehicle just before 10 p.m.

A traffic accident reconstructionist was brought in to determine the sequence of events leading to the pedestrians being struck.

No further details are available.

This was easy to see happening. The Myrons party was complete mess at the Brewing Co. People were drinking everywhere from the street to the parking lot. There was no control or even police near the party and people could do pretty much anything they wanted. There was tailgate parties and people drinking from bottles everywhere outside the Brew Co. I was planning on attending but when we drove by and just saw everyone standing everywhere drinking we chose to go elsewhere. Maybe if they plan to do one of these reunions again they could plan better and maybe have more security or police around because it was an accident waiting to happen just to bad innocent people had to get hit by a car.

I was also there and did see people standing around drinking as I was myself. But really what would you expect it mostly an older crowd who were there to relive their youth and standing around drinking is something everyone done outside the old Myrons. There could have more police around for sure but only because of the large crowd that was there and parking was difficult because of the big crowd.

I was at the Myron's event and never witnessed tailgate parties of people doing much what ever they wanted outside. I was out a number of times to accompany a friend who smoked. Blaming the Myron's event for what happened is like blaming McDonalds because you're overweight. The two individuals where involved in an accident.
