Motorcyclist injured in Kings County crash

A motorcycle lies in the trees after its rider crashed into a ditch in Kings County Canada Day.

 The Kings District RCMP (Souris) responded to a report of an injured motorcyclist who had crashed his vehicle into the ditch on Route 16 near Kingsboro on Canada Day.

RCMP was assisted by Eastern Kings Fire Department and  Island EMS in attending to the injured rider, a 61-year-old man from Lakeville.

Investigation revealed that the solo motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and was ejected as it went into the ditch and struck a tree.

The driver was conscious and speaking with police and paramedics before being transported to hospital for further treatment.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash and no other vehicles were involved.
