Harding Creek Road

The $350,000 replacement of the Harding Creek Road Bridge in Clinton is now complete and the bridge is open to the travelling public.

Construction of the project began in late May following a community information session in New London. The original bridge was built in 1974 and was identified for replacement as part of the department’s bridge inspection program.

Two more bridges will be replaced in 2014-15 in Rocky Point and Souris.

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Minister Robert Vessey says such strategic investments not only improve safety but help boost the economy in rural parts of the province.

Organizations: New London

I'm sure the people who use this bridge are pleased that it's completed and open, but what I don't understand is Why a bridge costs $350 thousand, while a culvert (Greenvale/Hunter River) costs $1 Million plus????
