Montague man faces drug charges

Members of the Kings District Street Level Drug Unit seized some marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a search of a Montague residence Sunday.

A 22-year-old Montague man will face two charges related to possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking after RCMP executed a search warrant at a Montague apartment in the early morning hours of May 11.

Members of the Kings District Street Level Drug Unit were assisted by uniform members from the Kings District RCMP in conducting the search.

A quantity of marijuana and other paraphernalia related to drug trafficking were seized during the search.

The accused was arrested and later released and will be appearing in court at a future date to enter a plea on the charges.

    Again only pot? why are we wasting this time any money, I could understand if he were dealing pills or meth or something but pot? it should be legal, sold as tobacco or booze and taxed. If an adult wants to use it they should be free too, but this really isn't a free country and it's getting worse as time goes on.
