Police charge Charlottetown youth with robbery

Charlottetown Police Services have charged a 17-year-old male youth in connection with a robbery late Saturday night in the area of the Sherwood Road.

As a result of investigation police charged the Charlottetown youth with robbery. The victim is also a male youth and police say there were no injuries in the incident.

The accused will appear in provincial youth court at a later date.

Charlottetown police also responded to a complaint of an assault early Saturday morning at an address on Kent Street. Police determined that a 26-year-old female had been assaulted by a male. The accused is a 25-year-old Charlottetown area male who will appear later in provincial court to face a charge of assault.

The victim required no medical treatment and both parties are known to each other.

Earlier Saturday night police received a complaint about a possible impaired driver on Kent Street near Prince Street. Police patrolled the area and arrested a 25-year-old Charlottetown area female for impaired driving.

Her blood alcohol level were more than two and a half times the legal limit. She was jailed at the Provincial Correctional Centre and will be appearing in provincial court at a later date.
