Environment Canada is now warning of a blizzard for P.E.I., an upgrade from Monday's winter storm watch for all of Prince Edward Island.
The blizzard warning was issued at 4:46 a.m.
"This is a warning that blizzard conditions with near-zero visibilities are expected or occurring in these regions." said the weather service. "Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements."
Winds up to 80 kilometres per hour are expected to combine with 20 to 30 centimetres of snow to create blowing snow conditions as the storm develops and intensifies early Wednesday.
High temperatures are expected to reach only minus 7 degrees.
It is very cold once again this morning, at -15 in Charlottetown with wind giving a cooling rate equal to -24. HIghs today might reach -13.
Cold is in the Island's future, with highs of -13 again on Friday.
There is not, however, any forecast of a second storm later this week.
