Water Street robbery

SUMMERSIDE — A syringe-weilding robber struck a Summerside convenience store Sunday night.

At about 8:40 p.m., Summerside police received a 911 call from the clerk at the Circle K service station/convenience store on Water Street.

It was reported that a man, approximately 6 feet tall and wearing a dark-coloured jacket, hood and sunglasses, pointed a syringe and needle at the clerk and demanded the money from the till.

The clerk responded by passing over the money and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man and have released a surveillance video of the event.

    Here's a novel idea... police should release the type of cigarettes the man demanded as a clue to people who may know of someone who smokes that variety! Families may be suspicious of someone but that small tip could be a confirming factor for someone. It's great to have a video, but why not give as much detail as possible about the events.

      If you watch the video footage you can actually see the type of cigarettes he stole in the upper left corner of screen near the end at about 20 seconds into video. They are Players Rich King Size. I agree, the more detail the better.

    why is there not a camera in back of the counter facing the counter so you can see a face? dumb place to have a camera over head. lol

    With that photo and my keen investigative skills; I've determined that the culprit is the Sir John A MacDonald statue commonly located on Queen Street.
