CALEDONIA — Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after their vehicles collided in Caledonia this morning.
Kings District RCMP is investigating the crash, which happened just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of routes 315 and 318, Wood Islands Road and St. Mary's Road West.
RCMP Sgt. Dave Thibeau says the crash involved a Kia Rio and a Ford Escort and it appears one of the cars drove through a stop sign and collided with the oncoming car.
The drivers, a woman in her 50s and a woman in her 60s, were alone in their vehicles and both were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown. It is expected they will be released from hospital today.
Thibeau exepcts charges will be laid under the Motor Vehicle Act.
