Charlottetown police investigate Sunday morning assault

A 23-year-old Charlottetown area male was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries following an assault on Kent Street early Sunday.

Police have arrested a 20-year-old Charlottetown area male for assault causing bodily harm.

Police say the injuries were not life threatening.

Police said they responded to the disturbance on Kent near the intersection with Prince Street, at 2:33 a.m.

Police are continuing their investigation.

    I think it's about time that we get the police officers out of cars and on the streets in this area at the closing time of the bars. Perhaps this is already being done? I am not sure, but I really think it is needed as a deterrent to violence.
