HUNTER RIVER - No one was injured in a two-vehicle collision that reduced supper hour traffic to one lane here Tuesday night.

RCMP and New Glasgow Fire Department both responded to the incident, which occurred just after the crest of the hill entering into Hunter River from Hazel Grove at approximately 5:15 p.m.

RCMP described the collision as "pretty straightforward."

A truck and car were both heading eastbound through the area. The truck, which was ahead of the car, had slowed down to make a left turn into a driveway.

That was when the car smashed into the back of the truck.

"Vehicle two just popped over the hill and rear-ended the truck," said an RCMP spokesperson.

The collision caused the eastbound lane to be shut down for approximately 45 minutes until the vehicles were towed.

RCMP said the matter is still under investigation and added that  alcohol, speed and weather conditions were not factors.
